So, I've got all these games in my Steam account that I rarely play. Or have never played. They came as bundles or got gazumped by other, flashier games. So I redownloaded a couple to play and here's what I think.
Babies are annoying. Pink, fat, you stuff food in one end and wipe crap off the other. Keep it warm, fed and clean and you won't kill it. They don't do anything entertaining. Toddlers are terrifying. They get up, run around, get their hands onto everything. They're anarchists that don't have the language skills to express themselves.
So if you've been on Steam lately you'll have probably seen Pete & I on Demigod. I believe Pete has already done a blog on the gameplay in more detail so I'll be glossing over those details here. What I'm interested in is the community who play the game & how they interact with a thick skinned n00b like me.
Super Monday Night Combat Invitational (hereafter referred to as Super MNC) is the open Beta for Uberents follow-up to the XBox Live (followed by a PC port) Monday Night Combat. The original was a game I really enjoyed, and it went down pretty well at Decembers Fishcon.

So, Buttocks is harder than a coffin nail and is becoming more self-righteous than a University Christian Union committee member at Easter.
I don't love fantasy as much as I love apocalyptic or sci fi settings. I don't love fantasy much at all. The main reason for this is that it is buried within Tolkein (et al) tropes that a broken at the peril of the creator. Move too far from fantasy and those who expect fantasy tropes will not enjoy your game.
