I thought we were an autonomous collective?

Started using Fitocracy a few weeks back to see if it would motivate me to get back to the gym (it has a bit, going to give it some time).

What is it? see Penny Arcade and (in concept) XKCD. There are 10 invites available here if anyone is interested...

I just put in my lunchtime run, and now I'm level 5?

I'm up for that
How did you sign up? Facebook/Twitter or normal account?

@Pete naturally. Took me three workouts to get there, you manage it over lunch ;)

@Rob I signed up for a runkeeper account and used that. With no intention of using runkeeper. Even I don't follow my logic there o_O.

I don't think it makes any huge difference, you can link it with everything in the settings if you so wish...

I've joined with Twitter. Couldn't see how to 'friend' people though.

In theory it should be a little daft for me... I've been lax recently, and need to put in some slog for Reading Half, Marshman and London Revolution. Which means about 12 hours a week...given my daily commute scores me over 400 points for starters...

I can level up? Oh my god.... I get XP per fitness activity? My central nerd-ious system is going mental.

I've signed in with Twitter but can't find any of you on there but Pete. I'm on as brainwipe.

So, I hauled my chubbyness into the gym at lunch and did 25 minutes on the cross-trainer. LEVEL 2. There was no end of level boss today but then I took it easy as have been a lazy goit recently.

Did some weights today. Only about 25 minutes worth and was good to have a fitness nut to show my what to do. More cardio tomorrow, when I remember my fecking towel.

I'm almost tempted... Does it have some sort of equivalence mechanism for martial arts?

Nibbles's picture

It does...in fact itbreaks it down by type...

I'm not quite at Pete levels yet.... Last night's Aikido only got me to level 4.

From what i've logged so far I think it overweights running on points.

30km cycle in 55 minutes is really pretty brutal (averaging 20mph, which in no mean feat road-riding), and gets 890 points.
11km run in the same time (which is a sensible training pace...about 7.5mph) gets 1151 points, as well as a load of quests.

I know from my own logs that calorie burn between the 2 is fairly similar...

Aikido is awesome. Did it as a teen, now I'm streetvincible :)

It is a an effective one for sure. :) much like Pete with the running I'm of the opinion that fitocracy maybe a little generous with its points on the aiki front... will be interesting to see how it deals with capoeira in comparison.
