2017 Things I'd like to do

Like resolutions but with a firm admittance that I'm not really in the business of tracking my own progress on anything. I can only do what I can. So these are all things I would like to do, some are personal, some are for the family. I want to do more socialising but at the moment it's so hard to plan or think about what that might take. I'd love to get back into roleplaying face to face. I do like Roll20 but it doesn't beat face to face.

Having a holiday and paternity leave has been good for bits and bobs projects. It's all about making life a little easier when moving around inside the wall. I've taken to keeping an in-game log of what needs to be moved where using a book and quill. For each location I write what it needs and before I travel there, I check the book. If I see something that needs fixing then I add it to the book. To be honest, writing it down in the first place has helped me remember.

At 0311 on the 21st of December 2016 Kate woke me up by going to the loo. Pregnant women visiting the toilet 4 times a night isn't remarkable, so I stirred but stayed curled up under in thick PJs and three times the covers that ordinary people do. The side effect of human baking is that you generate your own heat like a geothermal vent and the heating has been pretty much off for months. Pregnant women fitted with a heat exchange unit is a viable renewable energy source.

Kate sounded urgent when she returned.

"That's my waters breaking."

2017 - New Years Resolutions

I've been procrastinating a lot about goals for next year... I suppose I'm reaching that time of life where your age has actual physical implications, and I'm keen to do as much as possible to delay onset of any health issues. It's fairly well documented that on average, from the age of 40 onwards you lose ~1% of your muscle mass/performance capability per year... I'm now in that age range, and I can expect to find training harder and harder each year. As such, I'm adding in a potentially quite high-impact health-related goal.

More Games I have been playing

Dead Rising 4

People who have played DR1 and 2 will remember a fun but incredibly hard game that tried to have loads of zombies on screen at once (somewhat hampered by the hardware of the day such that all the areas had to have loading splits) it's everything's a weapon game style, somewhat troubling photography mechanic that credited "erotic" shots, and punishingly tight timed rescue missions where you had to save a survivor then escort them to safety that at higher levels clashed so it was impossible to complete everything, the super tough mini boss battles.

A Postcard from Minecraft

I've been surveying/roof fixing around the village and had stopped by Rob's tower and saw the snow scattered around looking scruffy. So I borrowed some cobble and tidied it up!

That's all to report. I've mostly been pottering around and making more enchanted weapons. I need to experiment with our map to see if I can figure out why it's going to the wrong world when you go through the End Portal. I think it might be something to do with world numbering and our old nether is numbered "wrong".

Postcards from Los Santos

Spanning a week or two we begin with the end of last night and a couple of bad fellows who got on the wrong side of the Lack of Motorcycle Club. They just wanted an excuse for a cuddle.

The Habanero, a particularly shit car that holds a special place in EMW's and my heart for it saved us in an hour of need. Now it has become the icon of a club that needed no icon. The first rule of Habanero Club is that you blow it up.
