Went for another cycle today and managed to get as far as the freeway that I take to work. The GPS tracker app I had on my phone reckoned I’d gone 2.7 miles which tallies with what google estimates.
I spent another morning waiting in line. When going over my temporary license I noticed it had a restriction on it for corrective lenses, since I don’t wear glasses I suspected this would cause me grief since legally I the couldn’t drive on it without my non existent glasses.
It's been about a month since I got back from Lands End...a fairly banal train journey from Penzance, and Gill met me at Reading station (still dragging that damn bag!)
Went for another bike ride yesterday got just slightly past the place I stopped last time and discovered the way ahead blocked by flooding. Probably shallow enough I could have rode through but could feel my legs running out of juice and the sun was setting so I called it a day.
Saving
We've been saving for ages. Saving included paying off student debts (not the loan, other debts I accrued) and actually building a deposit. About 2 years ago, the plan was to live cheaply in the inlaw's house while they were in Cambodia and then buy a house when they got back and house prices were lower.

It's about a month since I finished Ride Across Britain, which I will henceforth refer to as RAB. I've attempted to type up a sort of review of the event before, however I think I exceeded Blogger's character count for saved drafts, and it was comprehensively eaten...
So I spent the morning moving from one queue to the next at the DMV while I applied for a California drivers licence. I wanted to get a head start and avoid the queues a bit so I booked an appointment … four weeks ago. Still I hoped the act of booking ahead would get me in and out quicker.
Yesterday evening I did my first course at Techshop it was basically a woodwork safety class certifying us to use various bits of equipment but it also had us make a nice little bench or foot stool.
