31 today! So for just over a month you're older than me again....

no escape from the cake

Just had an announcement here:

No doubt there will be dancing cakes aplenty in the next five minutes or so...

As of today I won't have a car. Well, until I save up a bit again. I'm intending to pick up something relatively newish and ex-fleet, which should be a welcome change in reliability from my run of 6-9 year old cars.

Also, on a connected matter my brother is back in Blighty for tea and medals, and will be driving me back and staying over monday.

Just found out I've been promoted.

This means a chunk more money, no more overtime pay but a healthcare package instead.

Far more importantly, it means I'm not longer an Intermediate Engineer. I've never liked that job title. Senior Engineer is much better.
