Abandoned this Christmas? Come to Langmas!

As luck would have it, my parents have moved Christmas forward a week so we can get the whole family together. As Kate's parents are in Cambodia and her brothers and sisters going to the Chrimbo celebrations of their other halves, that leaves us with an empty house Christmas Day.

So, we're going to have a Langmas. It's like Christmas but the only 'family' that are invited are ones not related by blood. You lovely types. So, if Christmas looks like a non-event in your household, come along to Langmas. If you have a prettier half (Pete, I'm looking at you) that is at a loose end, then they are welcome too.

We're planning to:
- Cook our first roast in the early PM. (With some tutorage)
- Hats, crackers and that Christmas record (yes as in pressed wax) that Kate insists we bring out each fucking Christmas.
- Evening nibbles (not Chris).
- Play some games (Wii, board, card and perhaps Pete's simply fabulous Chrimbo card game idea)
- Watch a DVD

It's not really a mad-getting-drunk affair but there will be booze about for those that feel the need. Think of it as a Christmas themed party.

Who's up for it? No need to say now but the more yays and neys we get now, the better!

I'd be a ney for Christmas day as I'll be with the parents, but will be around on other days to come over to Reading way if people fancy doing something.

I'll be around... Gill is off North to spend it with her parents (I politely declined...partly as I'm working xmas eve when she is travelling, partly as I really didn't want to go spend somewhere uber-xmassy).

What sort of bird are you cooking? I have some experience of searing the flesh of poultry...

No idea what my family are doing for Xmas but if it involves extended family in the evening then I am likely to be around.

Nice gents. Pete, glad you're still up for it. I thin the Mrs is going to try duck. I'm not sure how big a duck is for feeding people but your expertise will always be welcome!

Simpson, we won't be splitting the day into any defined sections, so you'll be more than welcome to just pop along as and when!

Sorry mate, working. Please start a new thread so I can keep my Christmassy thread nice and clean. That way, I can see who and what and where nice and easily. Cheers!

My parents in law are coming for lunch, but we may be able to pop over in the evening once they're gone...
