Virgin Media sign up to 3 strikes, customer walkouts imminent.

First strike letters sent to Virgin Media customers.
Between this and the Advertising Standards authority slap on the wrist for misleading bandwith estimates Virgin Media are fast becoming very unpopular.
I wouldn't touch them with someone elses. You can change the logo, but you can't change the puppy-murdering paedophiles who run the place.

My understanding is that they've actually got worse since the brand change.

Probably just more overt. We are talking about the company who disconnected our service 3 times for non-payment of bills they hadn't sent, while having a direct debit sitting in their inbox for 9 months. It took the CEO's secretary to actually sort things out...
They pushed my "be a complete bastard on the phone until the problem is sorted" to its very limits. I've never had to actually explain direct debit regulations to a company before now...

Ooo I can play NTL were shit too :D
When I quit NTL when I moved to a house where I couldn't get cable they kept charging me for three months. I had the bank cut off the Direct debit after the first time it happened so they started sending me threats after that. I would get them on the phone and they would assure me it would be sorted out and apologise profusely then next month another bill would show up. Eventually after some more length telephone calls and a rather angry letter they stopped sending the bills and gave me a refund and a written apology. Though I still wonder if somewhere in their system I'm still listed as owing them vast sums of money.

Ah, I think we're going to move away from Virgin. I undestand Sky is pretty good.

I suggest putting your service cancellation in writing recorded delivery. We had the same issue with NTL with cancellations, where they kept sending us chase letters for about £200 for months after cancelling. Obviously I'd cancelled the direct debit, and I explained to 3 separate collection agencies that not only did we not owe the money, in fact NTL still owed me the £50 refund I was promised after all the clusterfucks.
Oh yeah, and cancel the direct debit.

I'm not with Sky, but I (obviously) know plenty of people who are, and they all say they're fine.

Another with Sky, works fine, haven't had any down time that I've noticed as of yet. Only problem being if you go with the wireless option then you get there Sky wireless router which is actually a netgear with modified firmware, so you can get your sky user/password to use a different router :(
