Simon Singh and some CAM bloke Edzard Ernst from some university or other want Magic water/ Homeopathy to 'put up or shut up' with a prize of 10k if anyone can prove it's better than a placebo. It's not exactly clear what the bounds of their bet is without fully double blind tests controlled test it would be pretty meaningless.
Unsurprisingly none of the Magic Water Enthusiasts/ Homeopaths have gone for this saying "We have nothing to prove, and certainly not to people with closed minds" well I would disagree if you are passing magic water off as medicine making claims about what it can cure, potentially causing people to stop or delay proper treatment for their medical issues, I would say you have a lot to prove before you should be allowed to do that.
I'm still appalled that this pseudo science nonsense gets paid for out of my taxes.
