They are going to introduce some sort of pre authorisation system you have to complete before you can even get the tickets that will take several days to complete.
This will likely cause problems for business like mine where the notice we get that we have to travel to the US is usually measured in hours.

Oh bloody hell. They have a strange view on recent immigration, seeing as it's a country derived from it.
They also get very uppity if someone tries the same tricks on their citizens
there was a big fuss a while back when some south American country began doing all the same things to Americans that Americans did to their citizens
It looks like they will go after one of the eastern European countries that currently don't have the visa waiver and get them to accept it then use that to try and force it on the rest of the eu.
The EU could start doing tit for tat sorts of policies so that the US has to do the same thing as us but they reckon it's unlikely the actual countries would implement that due to the impact on tourism and trade this would have.
America is already suffering a bit for it's unpleasant immigration policies widely regarded as some of the worst in the world (probably the worst in the western world I would think) people don't want to go there they are worried that one little slip up on the form and they will be locked up in camp xray awaiting military tribunal. This isn't exactly good for their tourism industry that is seriously down on what it used to be.
I doubt this will help that though a pre approval policy might make people less worried about being locked up, still I'm sure that all the current stuff you have to do will continue.
