How can there be a discussion? There's no "pro" to this. It's bullshit, and it's not the first time Apple has done this sort of thing with iTunes.
It's no defence, but it's not just Apple; it's the whole music industry - they're really just carrying on with the appalling practices that have always been part of selling other people's creative output to the punters.
This is why I don't use the iTunes store. If I want something enough to pay for it, I buy the CD. It's still a bum deal for the artist, but as far as I can see, one less middleman must be better in a small way.

Still love my iTouch. Watched LoTR on the train home last night. Envy of EVERYONE! If I had speakers, we could have had a movie night with perfect strangers.
