Saw this on the humble store and it ticks a lot of the boxes we enjoy for weekend games.
* mining
* coop
* space
* weapons and mayhem
* dwarves
it's also on steam but slightly more expensive
it's in early access but looks pretty polished ratings on steam are positive

picked up a copy and tried it out singleplayer fun but quite hard on your own kept running out of ammo then getting murderized by waves of aliens suspect it needs the various classes to support each other
shows promise tho
I spotted this pop up on my steam feed. Might be worthwhile for 20 quid! Looks like a chuckle. Is it worth it for Sunday night now or give it a few more weeks to mature? Happy to chuck money at it on your say so, sir!
It felt fairly solid when I played it the interface and graphics all seem up to par I didn't encounter any bugs but then I was just playing local sometimes there's a rotten core of network code lurking in otherwise fine games. I wonder a bit about ballance it did seem very hard to play on solo with me running out of ammo a lot and only having enough for the resupply deployment after I'd kited a load of enemies so the auto turret thing you get when you solo killed them with it's seemingly infinite ammo. I also found getting back to the drop ship a pain on the last run I did, once you meet your mining target the robot mule thing that collects your ore and follows you around runs back to the ship and then you have five minutes to get there yourself it took this very direct crawl up the ceiling and walls route and I quickly found I was unable to follow it and got lost then killed by the final wave of enemies it throws at you as you escape. Each of the classes has a different traversal weapon so maybe with access to a full or nearly full crew it would have worked out better.
It might be it's only been balanced for coop or perhaps I had the wrong one of the classes I was using the engineer with his turrets which worked well while I had ammo for them. It's a lot more stressful than say astroneer or minecraft none of the zen of mining. It also might end up a little repetitive it is just head down the procedurally generated mine find the resources and fight off waves of aliens at least on the mission I had. It looked like there were other missions to play though once you completed the first ones or leveled up or something.
I think we can probably get 20 bucks worth of fun out of it whether we get more than that I'm not sure.
If you do pick it up there is a short tutorial thing that runs the first time you play not sure if that is skippable or not
That sounds a bit buggy but a bit hilarious - buggering off to leave you to die. It does sound stressful but that's OK for some Sunday nights; GTAO can be stressful too!
Big R - you happy to pull the trigger on this one?
Been watching Yogscast play it...
Looks easier with more classes, note how they use the zip lines to escape.

When I can get it of under the baby, I'll get it installed for tomorrow.
Installed.
It throws you into the tutorial the first time you load, but I had to go out half part way through, so ended up exiting to desktop, when I logged in next it took me to the normal start location, so it doesn't look like it enforces that you do the tutorial, but it was handy for learning a few little bits.
I'm in!
Just gave it a quick go - it's quite tiring but the sense of achievement is massive! I played my engineer and went up 2 levels.
I just had a mission where on extraction the mule went vertically straight up which with the scout you have no chance of following :S
Had to take the long way round dig a few tunnels and made it with seconds to spare :D
In the online game I played, there were two scouts, a miner and I went engineer. Not having the zipline from the gunner meant a really long walk.
I've seen on the YouTubes a technique where a zipline is placed by a gunner, the engineer puts a platform under it and then the miner gets onto the platform and mines upwards into the roof of the tunnel. Once the team is following then the engineer puts down a sentry in the mouth of the tunnel.
It's also common to use 2-3 supply drops in a mission, it seems.
You will both have to show me the ropes then, I will be going in as a total n00b.
Cool! It's not one of those games that's hard to pick up and we have to work as a team when the shit kicks off.
It was pretty fun if stressful game I think it could get old fairly quickly as the gameplay is only really that one mode (the other modes at least so far are just slight variations get eggs rather than ore not sure what some of the other types are).
It's progression is also a little lacking in that you just get slightly better at the things you can do already. Comparing it to helldivers you could unlock new weapons and abilities you could get the best thing which we all know was the motor cycle with a side car (then run down a team mate in it) you could change the way your character played. Here there is nothing new just some stat upgrades more damage more ammo etc.
It's a lot of fun and it does remind me of things like left4dead vermintide and such but I think they need to do more to give it legs.
It mixes some fun elements, but isn't without flaws. On the plus side, it was stable and what it does include is playable.
I had another game online where the others (who were about the same level) burned through the level at a fearsome rate. They didn't stop to mine out every piece, they just hooned through it. We were all scouts too and once I got used to the grapnel gun, it was quite fun. An all-scouts dive might be worth a chuckle.
I would be up for it.
