LOOK AT ALL THAT MUSCLE!!!
I've just had a man-moment. I do wonder if this is just going to make GTA-O more like Mad Max than it already is. If the weapons on the cars are done well, it might help end some of the air superiority (which isn't so bad these days). I'm going to pass on the "boosting expensive cars" upgrade and save up for a bunker! A bunker is definitely in my character's style.
Not sure an amphibious vehicle is all that useful. There aren't that many low rivers that you can't jump and I doubt you'll be faster than going around the lake.
Does indeed look like a chuckle!
It's being release on the 13th. Not spent any cash. Can't wait!
here's a nice video of it

THE MOBILE BASE! Driving out the back! OMG!
And we all get to live the MEGAFORCE! dream.
I'll need to watch MEGAFORCE again before we play.
Ah, this trailer.
So, in theory it is online now ... GUNRUNNING
There is a fair chance I will get the fully upgraded best bunker very soon.
Got bunker and mobile ops lorry, just leaving my guys to convert the supplies to stock and then I believe we can run some op.
Be warned, the setup cost is quite large, I have spent the entire $8mil shark card and not unlocked all the bunker options, and not even considered any vehicles yet.
They must have done their sweep for illegal cash as my gta balance is now 0 which is a bit of a shame as I'd earned quite a lot on the missions we did over the last few weekends. Those shark cards are now tempting me :S
Seems like there are a lot of options on this add on some of which are purely cosmetic or of little use but difficult to tell at this early stage while people are still figuring it out.
From what I can tell so far, you can survive with a basic bunker purchase, but there are 3 upgrades you can buy once you are in to improve your "people" to increase yields and quality (as well as a security option), which are potentially worth it.
The Ops truck is just pure expense to allow you to run ops and certain modules actually give you access to weapon and vehicle customisations. I have read that ops themselves don't award particularly high rewards compared to the cost of the truck, but I live in hope they are at least fun.
Right now, I have no idea what to do beyond gathering supplies, I am putting everything into research for the time being but at some point, I am going to need to start earning some money back to get the vehicles. I might try buying a MC business and just spend my evening gathering supplies and see what happens.
yeah it looked to me like you could get by on the basics but there were some add ons that made things nicer or easier that were not essential but nice to have. Things like the onsite bedroom or spawn point the gun range apparently gives some bonuses if you do the challenges but otherwise is a duplicate of the ammunation one, and the gun locker allows loadout customisation. The buggys look like a fun but mostly pointless addition.
It seems to have the same upgrades as the MC business upgrades (more staff, better security - implying it can get raided like the mc businesses, and equipment) I assume they function similarly accelerating product (or research I guess).
From what I've seen in terms of best ways to make cash (which maybe will change once the bunker stuff has been analysed) a mix of stuff is still the way to go either mc business or boosting top range cars while running ceo missions in the down time can net something close 400k an hour.
I think with the mc businesses you need the upgrades to have any hope of getting good returns the one I have which isn't the best takes a long long time to produce anything and requires a lot of work to fill up the supply. I'm not sure how that equation changes with multiple businesses all running in parallel.
The car boosting seems a lot easier (if the session is a good one) for solo players to make cash. The drop off missions are relatively easy (probably even easier in a cargobob) and pay out well assuming no damage to the car you are looking at an 80k payout. For MC missions you need to work a lot harder and likely need a crew I did a 90k mission last night and it had me run two garbage trucks all the way from the weed farm to downtown then thread through the streets dropping 10 different packages which took about 20min (and involved me leaving one truck in the open then having to race back to it :S) for about the same money I could drop a car off somewhere then summon a buzzard and be on to the next thing.
So far I've not seen any good guides on what the gunrunning missions are like I saw a couple of icons last night and people cruising around in their mobile command centers but not really got a feel for what the new stuff actually is.
I'd like to pick up a bunker etc at some point not sure if I want to grind for it buy a shark card or just see if I earn enough at some point for it. It looks like for the absolute basics you need 1.2 mil for the cheapest bunker and then 1.5mil for the cheapest mobile command center so 3mil ish in the realm of
a Whale card and there seem to be a few offers on at the moment for cheaper cards. The fact that the bunker stuff unlocks presumably better weapons seems like it would be worth having at some point.
Oh and while rockstar took all my money I still have my fabulous yacht
Wow this is an expensive update and it's got myriad of ways to extract more and more cash.
So I decided to pick it up. Amazon had the megalodon on offer so I indulged. Still not much left of that 8mil now.
I decided to get one of the slightly more expensive bunkers the one right next to the mc clubhouse figuring it was a more convient location plus if I want to spawn nearby I can spawn at the MC and save money on the apartment in the bunker. I got the basic bunker but added the cheaper golf cadies as I figured why not. I also picked up a mobile command station then loaded it up with command center, weapon mod, and vehicle storage bays. I did the setup mission and then let it run for a bit adding the staff and equipment upgrades basically wiped out the rest of my cash.
I decided to treat myself to a new car and with what remained I picked up the imponte nightshade and fully upgraded it. Then I wandered about trying some of the new missions. The new update is basically a combination of the MC businesses and the special vehicle missions, the bunker missions are the similar resupply wait sell the goods but with the option to also do research which unlocks special weapons stuff you can then purchase to have deployed in game. There are things like juggernaut armour and what looks like a grenade launcher. There is a way to accelerate research to unlock things instantly again this costs more money.
There are also special missions in the mobile command center. I think you need to have bought the command center bay but if you do you have the option to run special missions with the new vehicles that came with the update it looks like it's very much like the special vehicel missions probably run in a instance and also they unlock as you do stuff for your bunker. In this case rather than boosting cars it's running supply missions
At first I though it was selling missions so I ran one with a small amount of guns that had accumulated (52k for a small section of the bar so money for these missions seems pretty good) one thing I notice immediately was the harsh difficulty level. So the selling mission I did gave me a turretted insurgent and then set me to deliver 5 packages in downtown. WHen i got the first drop it told me that the gps signal would be blocked if I stayed in the marked area so this meant no global signal for the next bit (as it happend the session was empty so that didn't really matter) then about 5 loads of merryweather troops attacked. Since I was solo I couldn't use the turret and inside the car I was getting shredded so I hopped out and took cover and killed them off. On to the next drop more merryweather this time with a few insurgents of there own. Next time there was a buzzard. Then two. On the fifth and final drop there was an ambush several buzzards several insurgents. It was pretty tough.
I managed it with a few deaths but it was tricky and I got 52k for it. The ai on this was a little wonky each drop the 5 or 6 merryweather vehicles would spawn but sometimes they were on non connecting roads or at one point on the other side of a mountain and their pathing got very wonky. Since this is a timed thing you don't have the luxury to just wait.
Next I tried some delivery missions similarly difficult, mission one I had to storm a yacht full of gun runners. Mission 2 destroy a few trucks till I found who had the package (I was lucky this time as the truck drove right by the bunker so I blew it up turned round went back it took all of 2 minutes). Next I had to steal a turreted karin technical this was tricky as the enemies then pursued you shooting but I couldn't shoot back for some reason it locked out my weapons (the thing did have what looked like metal plates on the windows), I went through most of my snacks keeping going back to the bunker. The final mission I did I had to ambush a merry weather patrol and steal a normal insurgent. I set up a trap with det packs and then couldn't work out the detonate key and had to switch quickly to my guns to take them out. Then I just rammed my way back to the bunker.
Then delivery stuff seems fairly similar to ceo crates or mc businesses just with lot more armed response. possibly more lucrative it's hard to tell you definitely have to work for your money.
The way it has multiple vectors for taking more cash not all of them obvious. for instance all the new upgraded mk2 weapons cost a pretty penny and then have mods and paintwork that costs even more. The mobile command center costs a load to start and then has a load of upgrades for the internals but also has a full set of the usual vehicle mods to buy. Most of these are relatively small amounts but it adds up.
In the end I unlocked the first two of the special missions and while waiting for the supply to drop did a few more car boosts and unlocked another mission there just one more to unlock there.
Seems like there is plenty of fun to be had here but it's a lot of cash to get started.
Starting off a quick snap from last Sunday. Just hanging about waiting for the MC President to get his shit together. On a roof. With an attack helo. As you do.
Big R and EMW have stolen a jump on me with the Gunrunning stuff. I adore the weaponised goliath that is Big R's Command Center. The forward mounted gun was great fun - thanks Big R!
I was very disappointed that I couldn't simply drive my V up a ramp into the back. I appreciated that it's not upgradeable there but it would have been cool to do that. I think parking cars into the back will be via a cut scene. That's a missed opportunity; so much of my childhood has revolved around the idea of one cool thing parked inside another.
That night I splurged on my own bunker. Here's dick-faced-cock-womble handing me the keys. Metal keys for this secret bunker? Really?
I agree with all peeps have said so far. I went with the bunker on the West Coast. After that I didn't have enough for my own Command Center so sat and had a think. I don't have the cash right now for a Shark Card (my pocket money went on a new drone) so I was in a quandry.
Thanks for buying the shark cards chaps!
When I play with you chaps, we play for fun. Now and again we sell stuff but it's mostly about doing fun missions. The "get crates" missions were a bit lack-lustre but all the others are good fun. Thanks for unlocking new stuff, I appreciate it. I love that we're getting more and more choice.
Lack Of Rollers
For those evenings when I pop on to do a bit of chaos, I need a way to earn some cash and have some fun. Boosting cars was out of reach so I've taken on an MC Club. I'm using the same club house as Lack Of MC 'cos it feels like home now. ;)
I had a nice evening on unlocked the final special vehicle mission and a few selling missions ended up making about 400k for a fairly idle evenings work.
Kept the bunker supplies topped up did a few interesting supply missions one where I had to storm the merryweather naval base and steal a prototype rail gun which I then got to use as I made my escape. Pretty fun
Unlocked the first 4 of the bunker special missions and am one more supply mission away from the 5th. Should give us some good stuff to play with come the weekend.
Research seems to take a very long time to complete on the bunker thing I've had mine all on research for most of the last two evening and have almost gotten to the first unlock and that's with all the staff upgrades. I guess the slow unlocking is a tactic to get you to pay to unlock it quicker.
On the research front, I found this on Reddit:
Research points
And all time is time in game, you can't jsust set it off and return every few hours to top off the supplies.
The supplies apprently run out every 4-6 hours depending on upgrades, so I think I might just solo for a few hours, then pop back to the public session just to top them up; atleast until I can afford the import\export building.
Got my first unlock tonigth think it's some sort of upgrade for one of the vehicles which I don't have. Did a few more supply missions unlocked all but the last two special missions and I'm only two more supply runs off unlocking them.
Also blew all my cash on a fast new car :S
had a good session today joined finished unlocking the special bunker missions and then ran some of them with Big bob as well as some supply stuff and even the odd special vehicle mission. Take aways for me Ruiner 2000 awesome I want one but too damn expensive, oppressor flying rocket bike awesome I want one but too damn expensive, weaponized Tampa with dual miniguns awesome I want one but they are too damn expensive, apc fun, tow missile truck surprisingly nippy.
And for the Tampa, you need to buy a bunker, do enough supply missions to unlock the related mission, find a friend or 3 to run the mission with to knock 600k off the price, keep the bunker supplied while staying in game long enough for the dual mini-gun turret research to come up and complete, wait for the mine research to do the same, buy a mobile command center, fit it with a vehicle bay, then apply the upgrades ... and they hopefully have enough money to cover it ... BUT I MUST HAVE ONE!!!
In about a year we're going to have a Weaponised Tampa problem!
I can see logging on in the evening topping the supply all the way up just before bed wrapping a rubber band round the right stick of the controller so it won't go AFK and then just leaving the thing running to burn through all that supply and get some research done.
It also seems that since I picked the wrong option for my mobile command center (personal vehicle storage and weapon mod bay instead of weapon and vehicle mod bay) I need to come up with another 900K to actually install any vehicle upgrades. Bloody expensive business.
I gave Imports\Exports a go last night (after deciding to plough the Tampa fund into it) and really enjoyed it; although my evening ended when a Buzzard blew up my deliver about a 1/4 mile from the drop off.
I suspect a few people know the high end drop off points well, as this guy had ever opportunity to mess with me during what was a very long drive, but instead did a fly by near the start, then vanished, only to appear hovering in a perfect spot to pelt me with missiles on the final stretch; turning my 70k profit into a 30k loss :(
It would recommend I\E as a good investment and good fun.
logged on earlier this evening and for some reason got credited 500k from rockstar. Not sure why maybe a shark card bonus they occasionally do that sort of thing.
Definitely saving up for I/E, it's the best fun-for-cash. Sorry that you got nailed, Big R. It happens on occasion when I am running crates. If it never happened then I think I wouldn't feel as tense and it would start to feel like a grind.
I too got the 500k, it would be nice if they gave you a reason.
I was surprisingly ok with getting blown up during the delivery, while I would have liked to get the cash, it wasn't a huge loss and the small risk of loss does make the whole process more enjoyible. Saying that I still feel the risk is too high for solo delivering from the other businesses, but that is probably just me.
Encountered my first Tampa attack last night, they started pelting rockets at my Kuruma while I was returning to the office, it was quite funny when while I was evading they managed to blow themselves up.
Yeah I guess with the I/E if you are solo running the one car the lost is very isolated you lose 20k you invested (plus any additional repair fees) which is not a lot in the crates or other delivery schemes you could be losing hours of work and the payout is probably similar for the sorts of runs a solo player can realistically manage.
I found myself in a solo session which stayed solo so I decided to cash in the guns I'd accumulated for a nice 100k payout it was a simple one stop drive to los santos mission so a pretty easy pay day.
