The witness is a new puzzle game from Braid dev Jonathan Blow it's a crazy beautiful game like some sort of gorgeous painting come to live.
The theme is you are trapped on this abandoned island which is strewn with these puzzles where you trace a path through a maze which have various rules like you have to hit all of the dots or separate white squares from black. Standard stuff it usually has a progression from simple to more and more complex variants. I played one sequence where you have to separate differently coloured dots in separate sections but the paint under different light had different appearances the last puzzle had a single set of colours in a lift each floor with different lights which then presented a different puzzle one the climax was having to work out give the light of the floor above what the colours of the paint would be exposed to that to get to the top floor.
It's somewhat brain crushing as it gets more and more advanced. It also has odd little voice recorders with quotes or statements. And at one point there was some sort of section from what appeared to be a 1970's bbc show about science and philosophy
It's a pretty interesting
