It's an interesting concept...when I first saw it I did wonder how they got a "treadmill" working in multiple directions, but the (what I shall refer to as the "teflon frying pan solution", or TFPS) slippy side method is quite clever, though I'd wonder how long the surface will survive with 100kg+ of person stomping round in studded shoes (I've seen how cleats on bike deteriorate)
Also, how do you strafe? Not sure I've seen that in the videos. The grooves in the TFPS only go towards the middle, there is no lateral movement?
