it's an interesting product and I've been tempted to get one but there is that nagging feeling that it's a bit of a gimick (i'll probabaly end up getting one anyway but that's just me :D)
I doubt you could use it in games for any period of time due to having to hold your arms out in front of you to use it that's going to get tiring pretty quickly (it was one of the manymany issues with those vr gloves me any byrnie got a few years back)
It might have some of the same issues the glove thing had the lack of a standardised interface like direct input it looks like the two games they showed (which seemed to be half life 2 and some plane game) have been customised for this controller if it doesn't work reliably out of the box with every game out there without needing a specific patch it's never going to take off in games. It also has echos of that hydra thing razer and valve were making that bombed.
The use as a sketching tool is interesting not sure how well that will work again it would need standardised support and connections to all the usual tools photoshop gimp etc all the demos they show are custom software nothing in use in a real tool just something they've thrown together to demo the concept.
but if they can get it going with universal support I can see coupling it with the oculus rift (http://www.oculusvr.com/) and that might make something interesting that or a way to get extreme motion sickness and damaged arms in the comfort of your own home
