A fascinating development in PC architecture is Intel's new Next Unit of Computing (NUC). I didn't know anything about it until this morning, they are a "sub mini-ITX motherboard with an embedded Intel Core i3 CPU". Which makes them pretty groovy for Home Theatre PCs (HTPC). I'm on the lookout for an HTPC, so this is very interesting to me.
I won't be replacing my venerable gaming rig any time soon but the vast majority of computing that goes on in the house is actually under the telly by the Mrs. I'm thinking of an HTPC with Linux/XBMC and a bunch of plugins.

I like it; very cute. :)
One thing I'd say is that for this use, (and you won't hear me say this often) I'd go Windows over linux. Driver support is much better (although still annoyingly imperfect) there - especially for intel integrated gfx. And an HTPC is somewhere that slightly laggy audio or stuttery video is going to be a real annoyance.
