Razer Go off the deep end new always on spying drivers

I know a few of us use razer mices (I do but I don't think I ever bothered to install their driver and just used the default windows one) seemes like they're making their mouse driver require a constant internet connection so they can spy data mine and then sell on information about you.

I had a razer for a while, but never really liked the hand-shape they were expecting. Also, for some reason the mouse button kept sticking, which I wouldn'r expect in a gamer-grade mouse. A constant internet connection is just a joke though.

If you want something really wanky for a mouse...I have a Steelseries Sensei. On-board processor, so most of the features a driver can offer you sit on the mouse, rather than the PC.

If it seems weird, then the story might be BS. It's only cloud storage for settings so you can share between devices. Pointless and over the top? Maybe. This is BoingBoing going off on one again.

What they don't address is:

"By using Razer Synapse 2.0 (“Synapse”), the Subscriber agrees that Razer may collect aggregate information, individual information, and personally identifiable information. Razer may share aggregate information and individual information with other parties. Razer shall not share personally identifiable information with other parties, except as described in the policy below"

What the actual fuck.

I imagine this is boilerplate EULA fail.

from that it sounds like the always online mode was just a fuckup on their part and it'll be fixed in the next version
