The Space X Falcon 9 launched their dragon space capsule earlier this morning it made it to orbit and successfully seperated. The capsule is now orbiting earth. Later today it will (hopefully) reenter and be recovered. If they pull it off spacex will be the first private company to acomplish this feat further extending the concept of commercial space flight.
Exciting stuff it seems not only is comercial space flight likely to be a reality in our lifetimes it's not that far over the horizon. Weyland yutani company here we come :D

Its an impressive step. Followup missions are:
1. get a Dragon to the vicinity of the station
2. Dock with the ISS
All interesting stuff. They're supposed to be doing supply runs to the ISS by the end of next year.
I've booked my ticket on the Nostromo.
Eh? What? Why's that a bad idea?
Looks like they made it the capsule splashed down 500 miles off the coast of southern California on target they're going to do a press conference later today.
Nasa are retiring the shuttle in 2011 so spacex will soon be the only game in town to supply the iss just as well they are getting the thing running now :D
Not quite the only game, there's always Soyuz. But from an American perspective, yes, cutting it a bit fine.
as an pseudo american now naturally non Americans don't count :D
