There's a con this weekend at Newbury Race Course for those interested in that sort of thing.

They used to have a 40K tournament there (StarSmash), run by Spiky Club, however the organisers were cocks, so Spiky told them to get lost.

We'll run our own tournament, with beer, and hookers, and blackjack. I might well be the Tournament Director for it.

Colours is apparently pretty focused on the historic scene. I think there is one held at Rivermead in November (Warfare), run by the Reading Wargames society, which again focuses on more historic stuff. Leisure Games has a stall at Colours which is why I heard about it.

I get the feeling its a more trade-fair based thing...not sure how much actual playing goes on there (though you have to assume they have a fair bit of space, as last year StarSmash had about 40 players, which is 20 6x4 battleboards...)

I don't know how relevant it is, but Saturday is also Newbury Beer Festival.
