A fairly in depth review of Razer's new mouse. As with all Razer mice, the initial ones are a bit buggy. There are a few issues, but one of them is that the mouse moves when there is too much vibration on the table... this is surely due to its sensitivity, and I would have thought can be written off.
One thing to bear in mind is that the guy reviewing it says "Left-handed people do not use their mouse on the other side of the keyboard, especially if they are gaming."
Either this guy is an idiot or Pete, you're doing it wrong.
Add salt to taste.

(I'm still reading it)
OK, this guy is an idiot. If you use the mouse on a soft mat then as you click a button that side of the mouse depresses and the aim moves off due to the huge amount of resolution in play.
They reccomend a hard mat.
He asked for (and got) a second model to see if "the problem" went away. I am shocked that it didn't.
Basically he's given it a bad review because he doesn't like using a hard mouse mat. That's objectivity that is.
Sounds like a right plum. I don't know about precision laser mice but I bloody know that you're supposed to use as hard mat. Plum.
What a muppet.
I love the fact that the side buttons being forward and back in the browser surprised him.
Although he does (accidentally) make a good point; there must b a point where more dpi is actually too much dpi. There's a limit to how accurate you can be with your hand and increasing the dpi past that point will just result in you always overshooting or knocking your aim way, way off by clicking a button. A hard surface will protect you from that with the two main buttons, but not the wheel or the side buttons.
For me, the sweet spot is about 1600dpi, which is less than my current mouse is capable of, so the current generation of 3000+ mice is totally redundant for me. (4000 would be well overkill even for vehicles in battlefield.)
Vehicles in battlefield? Overkill? Are you saying I'd find it easier to cook in BF?
Reviewing mice now there's a tough gig. I'm quite happy with my cheap mouse but then I play games on the arm of my sofa.
To be honest, Rob, I don't think there is any more overkill that your current battlefield vehicle use. :)
What games does the arm of your sofa have?
This person should be tarred and feathered. Of course left-handers have the mouse on the other side of the fucking keyboard.
Left-handed people do not use their mouse on the other side of the keyboard, especially if they are gaming. While an office worker will see no down-side to changing the side that the mouse is on, a gamer isn’t allowed the same luxury. Due to the positioning of the space bar, you can’t switch hands without it being a major disadvantage. For the most part, left-handed users will keep the mouse on the right side; as a result an ambidextrous design is near pointless especially after asking some left-handed gamers.
Has he never heard of the concept of re-binding keys? How many left-handers did he ask, exactly? I find that I can use the right-arrow key quite happily as a jump button. Twat.
Regarding resolution/sensitivity, I actually play with a fairly low sensitivity, probably as I'm used to old wireless mice (with a resolution measured in yards and chains). I have a bad habit of moving around to help my aim instead :-D
The man is clearly a twunt. I have started using my work mouse left handed at the request of my Chiropracter...
I am tempted to get an account on the forums to just tell them what a 'Trusted review' actually means.
