there are no spread sheets involved in GSB
championship manager is basically excel where every 30 minutes you stop to watch a video of small football men playing a game :-P

Champ has both tactical and strategic input, during a game you can make changes (then cross your fingers and toes in the hope of it actually making a difference).
Also for info I've clocked hours between games in pointless ineffectual tinkering, it just makes the gut wrenching failures on the pitch all the more fun (where fun = tearing your hair out whilst the spouse laughs).
