This is frankly quite chilling that the US has made a public statement that its laws allow it to just grab anyone they think has committed a crime in the US and kidnap them, rather than following any extradition procedures. Then since the laws in the US say it's OK to do this you would have no legal recourse once they had you. Apparently it dates back to the 1890's and bounty hunting laws and so called rendition which was recently revived for terrorists under the new brand name Extraordinary Rendition (now with 110% more torture) seems like they are rolling it out to all the other laws.
I guess it neatly sidesteps the non extradition country issue, at the expense of looking like some totalitarian state. Land of the free my arse.
