This will no doubt qualify as a pointless blog given that more or less everyone knows what's going on with me at the moment anyway... But I have no work to do currently so figured may as well write another blog.
Work Life
After 9 and a bit years I am leaving Yell. Its no secret I've not been happy here for a while and a desire to move to Edin to be with my good lady proved the ideal motivation to actually get something new. My new employer will be Centrica/British Gas/Scottish Gas depending on how the stars are aligned at any given moment. I'll be a process analyist dealing with SAP billing. Apparently there's a heavy emphasis on finding workarounds and quite a bit of stats work. Looking forward to learning something new as much as anything. :) My last day at Yell is the 28th of May and I'll be starting the new one on the 7th of June.
OU Life
This year has been the year of politics covering: the comparative method, political structures in the UK, political theory and policy making. I've found it utterly fascinating and at times mildly terrifying. Still comfortably in 2:1 territory although this may change in the next couple of weeks. I handed in an exam which I'd done minimal revision for earlier this week so not confident there. My final 3 hour beast in the 16th of June... Not sure how much revision I'll be able to get done in that time given the shifting of my life up north. Hoping the bucket tons of work done since October will stand me in good stead.
Kinetic Life
My feet are determined to be a little bit shit so not been back to Aikido lately... Its on my list of things to do once I am set up in Edin. The achiellies injury feels much better now so hopefully I'll be back training in a few weeks. The circus skills are goin fantastically tho! My poi work has improved out of sight since the last post. I've got a shit load of new tricks and ways of moving. The next step is fully qualified mad shit as far as poi goes. I've also developed with contact staff (manipulating the staff with bits of the body that aren't your hands) and meteor hammer - a REALLY big poi that you tie yourself up with. I'll be looking for a troupe to join in Edin as I am plenty good enough to unleash my skills on the general public.
Chaotic Life
I'm up in edin on saturday flat hunting, the estate agents are around to the flat later to get that on the market. Effectively I've got 2 weekends left in Reading to sort stuff out and there's an alarming amount of stuff to sort! Not least all those zombies that need killing. I am probably going to arrange some sort of leaving do for the 29th of May, current plan is a day in the park followed by an evening in the pub. Will post details here once a flat's confirmed.
That's about it for the time being! Although I've been trumped considerably by EMW and his much more hectic life amendment [shakes fist] it still feels like I am charging into the unknown. For good reason I suspect. ;)

Day in the park for your leaving do would be great - I can bring the Mrs and Fatmunch into town for that.
Once you plonk yourself up north, you'll have waaaaay more to talk about.
Excellent! There's a reasonable chance of other parents being about for that bit as well. :)
Obviously I've been planning my own move specifically to trump yours, it took 2 years of planning and a bit of minor brainwashing and the assassination of a few political figures but it was worth it in the end :D
Depending on how things go I might be able to turn up for some of the 29th I'll have to see closer to the date as I might be too busy moving out of my flat or getting other things ready before I fly out so we'll see.
At any rate I wish you the best of luck in the move I hope it works out. Obviously I know what it's like to be heading off into the unknown how stressful, scary, and exciting it is :D
Huzah! Things are markedly less stressful, scary and unknown today. :)
Got confirmation of my new flat through. Will be moving into 1 Connaught Place, Edinburgh on the 30th. Also got the T&Cs through for my new job. Bit less than I am on down here but the bonus scheme is upto 16% per quarter. Which is nice. The flats also now available for sale online.
Its bloody lovely to know whats going on with it all as well. I might even be able to study this week!
YAY! Destress is really handy.
