All Ubisoft PC games in future will require an internet connection to run. It's just really daft a massive draconian nightmare of a DRM system that phones home the moment you run the game if it can't connect you can't play. It also effectively nullifies the ability to resell the games taking out the second hand market as well which as a publisher is what Ubisoft want as they get no money off second hand sales.

Mental. Mental. Mental.
Although, I think I always have an internet connection.
Still Mental.
LAN parties...
Nearly always have an internet connection. Fishcon is a limit case.
yeah but if some prat with a pnumatic drill cuts through the fibre supplying your internet as occational happens you won't be able to play any of your games. Or their master server is taken offline for a few weeks for maintance or what ever.
Even if most of the time you do have internet there are occations when this would be an arse. I bet there will be hacks round it inside of five minutes but still they shouldn't have to resort to these measures that really only annoy honest customers
Yep. It is mental, was playing devil's advocate.
What will happen if I lose my Internet connection when I play the game?
If you lose your Internet connection the game will pause while it tries to reconnect. If the Internet connection is unable to resume, the server will have stored your last saved game and you will be able to continue from where you left off once your internet connection is restored.
You also have a Ubisoft account which will save your saved games.
And to completely take the biscuit:
Why is Ubisoft forcing their loyal customers to sign up for a Ubisoft account when they don't want to give their private data and only play single player games?
We hope that customers will feel as we do, that signing up for an account will offer them exceptional gameplay and services that are not available otherwise.
