Hurrah! The first particles are now being collided in an LHC near you.
So, what are you doing to prepare for the end of the world?
I'm going to train Felix in Ray Mears like survival techniques so that he can feed and water himself.
I'm busy building a survival bunker complex, but I'm not sure it'll be ready in time. I think I used too many monkeys.

I live equidistant between 2 nuclear weapons establishments...pretty certain I'm fucked if things get spicy. I've joined my local post-apocalyptic biker group just in case I get lucky...

@Byrn, you're right. They haven't got the thing running at full power but having two beams running round is great. It's the first step to full power and they are back to where they were before they broke it. Careless scientists.
Which direction does your bunker complex extend?
@Pete - will it be a self-powered-biker-gang or the petrol kind? I can picture you as a Mad Max-esque warrior driving the wastes on Matilda... but on the push bike? Not so much.

I'm going to tool up, get hold of a band of easily lead savages (all those years in the Rising being put to good use at last) and lay waste to Caversham Heights.

@Nibbles, so your first action at the crux of the apocalypse is to turn more of Apocalytica into a wasteland? Nice.
What I want to know is - in Caversham Heights - will anyone notice the difference?

South. Kendrick road was flat but had to be raised to get in the vaulted ceilings.

@Byrn - aaah, an emergency route to the pub. Good idea.

@Rob not quite, the pub is north of mine, although I always think of Reading as being the wrong way up.
There is a tunnel to the north however, leading to beer, burritos, pie and the cinema...

I've started building my own LHC out of lego in the hopes of ending the world myself before they can get to turn the power dial all the way up

@Byrn, of course! I knew that, honest. Downhill is south. ;-)
@EMW - devilish!

@brainwipe - I think they'd notice, there's bound to be a few survivors left to complain about the fall in house prices and upsurge in drunk, violent sociopaths lowering the tone of the area. Its rather posh up there.

Not at full energy mind.
