Probably around the same time that they decided to include "a player joining a massacre of civilians at an airport."

Meh...we've all done that.
How is that different to de-populating army bases in Prototype?

Its an army base... Eating the civilians for health in Prototype is a much better example.

It's just the usual mutterings of the "BAN THIS SICK FILTH!" brigade they only know about games that make the most money all other games are invisible to their tiny minds
it's why GTA got loads of flak but something even more violent never gets mentioned
I bet that anti games nutter Keith Vaz is going to be all over this

He already has been, although it seems that his fellows are getting bored as well.
As for the overmilkedness of the franchise this is now supposedly a separate franchise from COD hence the lack of the call of duty name on this one.
Supposedly treyarch are continuing COD with yet more wwII rehashes like cod world at war while Infinity Ward are off to play with the Modern Warfare franchise.

I have to say, on the subject of, overmiledness, COD4 was one of the best games I've played in a long time. I wasn't hugely sold on the multi-player, but the single-player campaign was superb. If this one is even half as good it'll be well worth the asking price.

COD4 wasn't like any of the other COD games. MW 1 was really a new game. There were similar facets to it predecessors but only in the same way all FPS are similar. I like mulitplayer, I played it a lot.

I think we played it at the last Fishcon (I may be wrong...I never played it after then). A little soul-less for my liking, and too slow. I say that of all modern era and WW2 games though.

I really liked the single player on COD4/MW1 but the multiplayer wasn't much cop (partly it was the old issue of it being designed for far larger player groups than we had at fishcon and not supporting bots)

You definitely need 32 players to make multiplayer worthwhile. The maps were not set up for 5vs5 skirmishes.
