If you might need this you've probably heard of it, but just in case...
Synergy is a bit like a KVM, but works in software over a network connection. Once logged in, you can move your mouse to the edge of the screen of one machine and have it appear on the next, taking keyboard control to it too and even your clipboard contents.
It is available for windows and linux and works seamlessly (tee hee) between them. As I type this I'm on a linux box, but I can use the same keyboard and mouse for the Vista box next to it and the Win7 box next to that.
If you're running in Vista or 7 make sure you run it as administrator before setting it to run at startup.
Its a nifty, if incredibly specific, piece of kit. Reccomended.

Oh, and OS X apparently...
Beat me to it. :)
This might actually be quite handy for me...lets me run stuff on the thinkpad, but contorl it with the main mouse...
I shall try to remember to give it a spin tonight...cheers :-)
Thanks Byrn, will try it out
This is genius!
I'm tempted to set this up across my wan just so I can send my mouse pointer to Colindale.
I sorted it out last night... Comedy moment when I set the left edge to goto my laptop, but failed to set the return link, so managed to get the cursor stuck on the wrong machine.
Very, very useful little tool...
This is great. Have added it as a keeper.
(Noticed the menu item is wrong, will change)
