Unfortunately I can't watch them, as they require Quicktime, which I refuse to install as it piggy-backs iTunes in with it, which I have no desire for on any of my machines...

Oh right, ok. Well how about I paraphrase for you?
Girl: I want a new computer.
PC: You want a PC.
Mac: I'm a cunt.
Girl: Don't PCs break down all the time? I just want something that works.
I just saw this advert on the tv, it's another poor example of why apple should fire their ad agency. We've gone over the many reasons these adverts are misleading in the past but it seems this format is locked in to apples psyche.
It's interesting the way the advertising is going it's almost like mac and windows switched advertising teams from yesteryear, with mac having incredibly negative adverts focussing on perceived weaknesses in their competitors product without actually offering any good reason to use their product and windows (I'm not going to use the PC moniker because it's meaningless a mac is a pc too now more than ever since it has 100% identical hardware to windows machines designed by intel then just put in a pretty box) is doing the these are the advantages of windows this is why a consumer should choose it.
It's an odd turn about.
This style of negative advertising is a very american thing it doesn't usually happen in the UK because it's illegal to actually name your competitor you have to do the whole brand x thing. The only reason apple get away with it in the uk is they use a generic term like PC rather than windows.

Yeah, all the Mac stuff about them being more powerful because they have Intel processors is quite funny.
I think you can mention the brand over here if it is linked with statistically provable information - which is why the supermarkets get away with it with their "Our prices are cheaper than X".

PC: Get a Netbook.

PC: Ignore him, he's a cunt.
See? I can write Apple adverts!
