And it's things like this and the problems I had installing on an Inspiron 2600 that means linux will always be the third OS.

Third? I'm a little confused by that, unless you're counting Apple's *nix based OS?

I count OSX as a separate OS entirely because it's supported by Apple to run on Apple hardware. You don't get these sorts of problems because it's a closed system. Think of it as looking at it from a purely User POV, rather than a historical one.

Oh and the other thing is that OSX doesn't flaunt itself as 'Run on anything, run anywhere, Windows replacement' or 'ideal OS for legacy hardware'. Clearly a fat lie.
