So someone did this fun little dance number for their wedding and used some copyrighted music they then put the video up on youtube rather than slapping them with a dmca takedown they decided to add a click through to buy the track and made a huge bundle of cash.
So rather than make enemies of these people and their friends and family and make no money they made a load of cash and seem like human beings rather than mindless corporate automatons

I think that it's an option that YouTube/Google offer on their automated tune matcher thingy to the record companies. I know that Static-X songs are also linked through in the same way.
It makes perfect sense...it's a zero effort option for the record companies, and in effect they end up with their fans making music videos for them... If you get a mass hit like this you have 15 million people having the song burnt into their cortex, and a nice easy way to buy, and if no-one sees the video you haven't lost anything.
it seems like the obvious solution they get their money and people can use their music everyone's happy ... well except for the artist formerly known as prince as he hates babys dancing on youtube
