Apparently, Square Enix have a new xbox RPG coming out in a scant 10 days, which I knew nothing about. It looks pretty impressive though - I'll probably have to pick it up, even if I've still got weeks (if not months) left of Lost Odyssey.
It wins awards for most confusing battle system ever. Seriously...go onto Eurogamer and watch one!

I saw eurogamer gave is a 6/10 sounds like for all it's innovation is still repeats a lot of the flaws of JRPG's

I'm currently going through Lost Odyssey, which is very good, if a little slow and combat sparse right now. My main complaint (and I realise this sounds a little whiney) is that unless you level and farm areas, boss fights are often impossible. the very first boss required you to be Level 16, which took the best part of an hour of running round beating up random encounters. You didn't have enough abilities to win with cunning instead at that point in the game...

Oddly, I didn't have a problem with that one. I guess maybe I'd inadvertently levelled up just by getting lost or something...
I needed a fair few goes (and a chuck of luck) to get passed the "gigantic worm with supporting bugs" fight though, so maybe I just got lucky on the first one?

The bug-worm was indeed a nightmare, and in the walkthrough I resorted to to beat it apparently one of the hardest fights in the game. The very fact that at that point you have no alternative to the "exchange hits" fighting method makes the fight very hard.
I only finally beat him as one of my immortals did a very well timed ressurection to put in a critical hit at the right moment!
