You know that good idea you've had? Perpetual motion machine or free energy source? Greenpeace are against it. They're against it because ... well, because they're Greenpeace. I think GP should stick to stopping whaleling and protecting the environment from industrial waste rather than chasing down science that hasn't come to fruition.

greenpeace is essentially nothing to do with the environment or saving the whales despite what they would have you believe they are a front for an anti corporate movement. They took over from the original founders years ago and kicked them out, since then they have been moving it in the anti progress lets all go back to an agrarian society eat turnips and reduce our life expectancy to 25 years (oh and have to kill off about 50million people since without technology our country won't support 60million people)
I've got no love for Greenpeace and in recent times I agree they've become one of the most irritating organisations out there, however they made that press release in '05 so why is it being ranted about now? I may well have missed the obvious there.
Also the greenpeace forums seem to be pretty supportive:

So this as far as I can see is neither current nor a representative view.
I might have just spotted it late. Frankly, the date doesn't bother me, it's my change of view of GP that's important. I had no idea they were wankers. Some of the supporters are luddites too, wanting to cover the earth in inefficient solar panels, rather than spending proper cash on research, whatever it may be.
