Now we play the waiting game

So here I am in T5 waiting, I’ve been waiting for a while now first till it was time to check in next for the security and now till the gate time comes around.

In the mean time I’m sneakily using the BA business lounge wifi without being in it which by sitting under it you can get for free. I have a BA frequent flier card but I have yet to accumulate enough points to get the silver level that allows you (grudgingly) in the lounge. I doubt I ever will get to silver as the points reset every year and it takes quite a few flights to get the “Tier points” to get up a level. In the mean time I gather up miles I can use for flights and upgrades at some point.

I had a look at the various tech shops saw the new alienware 11″ gaming netbook pretty neat looking machine but for 700 quid a bit pricey. They also had the IPad which I might see if I can get a go on later, currently it was swarmed by people prodding it tilting it and generally mucking about. Saw that the HMV was selling UMD movies for the sony PSP, I can’t believe they are still flogging that dead horse. They were heavily discounted but still I can’t see anyone buying those over a DVD or what ever. I guess when you are bored in an airport with nothing to do you make poorer purchasing decisions.

My parents drove me down and we had a coffee and a wander about the fairly stark pre security section of the airport it was nice to be sent off.

Anyway I’m getting myself ready and in flight mode all the bits and pieces I need in easy reach pretty soon it will be time to catch the train down to the gate. Last time I was here they had secondary security screening there so I’d best head down on time and  hopefully in a mere 11hours I’ll be in SFO.
