My Fallout 76 B.E.T.A. adventure

So I decided to preorder fallout 76, I'm trying not to preorder at all these days it's of limited benefit in this fully digital distribution world and it really only benefits the publisher. The only times I do now are when you get something worth having for preordering with fallout 76 you got access to the beta. Now the beta doesn't actually run very long it's currently 4 sessions the first one xbox one exclusive and then one that was yesterday and then two this weekend. Then the game goes live on the 15th of november.

Some more gamedev shenanigans

So I've not done much work on the game engine I was playing with partly due to getting stuck on some annoying bugs which were more platform or tools level of code rather than progressing any sort of game. So I decide to put that aside for a bit and try something in a premade game engine where someone else gets all that underlying code right ahead of time and I can just focus on the game parts of it.

Yakuza Zero

I've been playing this recently and enjoying it. The Yakuza series is a fairly long one mostly released on playstation up to its 6th game with a multitude of spinoffs, recently they've been remastering the original games and releasing them on PS4 and PC.

Far: Lone Sails

A charming little game about piloting this odd land ship across a post apocalyptic landscape. At first you have to fuel it to keep it going by running around inside pushing buttons to run the generator and releasing steam loading new fuel and then stopping to grab more fuel off the ground as you roll along. Then you get sails that allow you to use wind power and as you progress more and different upgrades.

The landscape of this odd post apocalyptic world rolls past in the background as you go and periodically you have to get out to overcome some obstacle on your path.

Fallout 76: Multiplayer Fallout

So lots of stuff coming out of E3 at the moment like Hitman 2 Anthem cyberpunk 2077 and so on. One of them is Fallout 76 the first multiplayer game in the fallout universe.

Bethesda have been teasing the game for the past month but did their first announcement with proper details and gameplay this sunday.

Here's a summary of the details given in that presentation

State of Decay 2

State of decay was flawed but interesting XBLA title from 2013 with a later pc port with some additional improvements and two DLC add ons that had some different play modes and additional story.

Opus Magnum: Space Chem but steam punk

The latest game from Zachtronics Opus Magnum is essentially Space Chem but with a steam punk esthetic and with some slightly different constraints

You use an alchemical engine that consists of moving arms and various modifying runes to take inputs and turn them into a desired output.

It's basically like most Zachtronics games

I'm quite a fan of their work and have enjoyed most of their efforts from space chem to infinifactory even tis-100 and shenzen io (that get quite close to the sort of thing I do for a living but slightly lower level) are quite fun.

Fallout 4 VR

Fallout 4 is one of my favourite games of recent times I've played it through multiple times on multiple characters with different builds taking the various paths through the game and even so keep finding new stuff or interesting new ways to play in it so when I heard there was going to be a VR version I was very interested.
